Fall Trends to Keep in your Closet

This fall there are so many trends you can take advantage of. Some new and some coming back from last year or even many years ago. These are a few trends I found in my closet and in my roommates that are the top trends right now. The biggest thing to realize is that trends overlap a lot so try to get the most bang for your buck! Guess what my biggest suggestion to you when picking out your fall outfits is? BE CONFIDENT, wear that cute outfit with pride a don't worry what anyone else says; if you love it if you feel beautiful if you feel confident...OWN IT!

Look 1:

This is my absolute favorite look, even though my friends just laugh when I wear my eggs shirt. The two fall trends in this look are colorful corduroy and vintage t-shirts. You can get t-shirts like this for a few dollars at thrift stores, I found mine at Kohls for $4. For the record, I do indeed love eggos and waffles. Colorful corduroy can be found in a lot of places and can be bought in pants, skirts, dresses, overalls, and jackets. I personally found my skirt at kinnucans and a similar one on Amazon, Target also has a lot of colored corduroys this season.

Look 2:

Bomber jackets are back and better than ever. This is the first bomber jacket in this blog, and even better it fits right in with the new metallic fad. Bomber jackets are an easy way to change up any look and give it a little flare. I chose to wear it over a simple black t-shirt dress, which I hope to goodness never goes out of style. Many stores and brands carry different styles of bomber jackets and you can usually find a cute one for relatively inexpensive.

Look 3:

Plaid, oh how I love plaid. I think it probably stems from wearing a uniform for 12 years, you inevitably have to love plaid to some degree. I styled my favorite plaid skirt with a black off the shoulder bodysuit and my black OTBTs. Head to toe plaid is in this season, but I prefer small touches of it to keep life simple. I bought this in Scotland so I can't help you find this particular one, but Target is once again killing the game with some fun plaid prints.

Look 4:

We all know how much I love this sweater from the kid's section at Target, I've only posted about it 3 times. Nevertheless, here we go again! Embroidery is huge this fall and coincidently so are fun sleeves! Simple embroidery on jackets, sweaters, jeans, and give every look just a little more fun. Don't worry I have a few more embroidery suggestions for you!

Look 5:

Sweaters and bralettes is still a great simple look. Notice once again the sleeves are fun bell sleeves. Also, I definitely own this sweater in 4 different colors because it is my absolute favorite, don't worry you've seen it before and you'll no doubt see it a few more times. This seater is called the "dahlia sweater" by free people. If you don't want to pay full price for it definitely try Poshmark, Mercari, and eBay for more reasonable prices for a brand new top. I also buy all my bralettes from American Eagle/Aerie because they are wonderful.

Look 6:

Another one of my absolute favorite looks, the pink corduroy jumper! Once again we see the colored corduroy, but also old-school style jumpers are coming back this fall! I paired mine with a creme turtleneck and some chocolate brown riding boots. There are several different brands who stock these jumpers, free people has them in multiple colors. I, however, got my pink one at target for s much lower price. I feel very retro in this look, definitely one of those trends that is a blast from the past.

Look 7:

This next look has very fun sleeves, not only do they have a fun shape, but they also have a fun design on the sleeve and neck. Make any simple outfit pop with just a little color! I added the orange jeans because the design on the sleeves and the neck has the smallest bit of orange so I wanted to pull that out. The other trend in this look is the flashy belt buckle. There are a lot of Hermes and Gucci belts that are wildly popular, but any flashy belt buckle will do the trick. This top was found while thrift shopping, but similar ones can be found at Target and TJ Maxx.

Look 8:

Magenta is one of the big colors this fall! Magenta anything and everything! I styled this sweet simple sundress with a bar necklace and gold OTBTs. I don't typically wear a whole lot of magnets but after this dress, I think that very well may change! This dress came from "lulus", but magenta can be found in just about any store.

Look 9:

The two-piece has been wildly popular, beginning with short two-piece sets in the spring to pant two-pieces. I will not lie I absolutely feel like Lizzie Maguire from the "Lizzie Maguire: The Movie" in this two-piece. This particular two-piece came from a website called "Shein", they have the shorts, skirt, and pant two-pieces. A great thing about this website is that everything is relatively inexpensive. Black is always a classic and the best part about black is that it is a slimming color, that's why every woman needs a little black dress in their closet.

Look 10:

Next is a look I have shared before because I wore it in San Fran, but I love it and it goes with two trends so I felt I had to share it. The first trend in this look is, of course, the lovely embroidery on the trim of the jeans, I got these jeans from Loft and I love then even though it has been noted I look like a kindergartener or kinder-garden teacher. Next, I have the free people sweater in cream! Lastly, I have a cargo jacket, these jackets fade in an out of fashion but always seem to make a few appearances in the fall. I got my particular one from target, but I've seen several at TJ Maxx and Kohls as well.

Look 11:

This is a fun look, and so very me! Ready? We have three trends in this look! First, magenta color in both the tank and the matching purse. Second, velvet is huge this season; you can do all over velvet or just a touch of it here and there. This particular tank came from Old Navy, which typically has lots of velvet. Lastly, and my personal favorite I leather! I love leather jackets, but leather dresses, shirts, skirt or just accents are huge! This leather jacket is my new favorite because it's pink, and guess who shopped in the kid's section again. I found it at TJ Maxx for $20 and thought it was a steal!

Look 12:

This look has two trends within it, embroidery ON the bomber jacket. You can wear a bomber jacket with just about anything what makes this one so great is that its jean so it so versatile. I love the feminine touch of the flower embroidery on the sleeves and neck. This particular jacket one was found at Dillard's, however, you can find similar ones at TJ Maxx and the ever reliable, Amazon.

Look 13:

This look was chosen because of its fun sleeves. I love the little poof at the end of the sleeves! I also love this dress because typically all over floral is not a good look but I love the colors in this dress. I got this dress from American Eagle this summer!

Look 14:

This look incorporates two trends, a trench coat, and animal print. Technically the animal print trend is head to toe animal print, unfortunately, I look like some kind of horrible in head to toe animal print so I just chose to accessorize a little bit with them. Trust me you can find animal prints anywhere, this particular little purse is Coach though. I also have a very deep love for trench coat style jackets and I highly suggest you get one whenever you can.

Look 15:

This look is an absolute favorite, even if it feels like it is a trendy mom style. I always loved jean on jean and never thought I could pull off the look, the key is to add pops of color to break up all the denim. I highly suggest finding a comfortable denim style shirt, mine is from GAP.

Look 16:

Once again, velvet is a big trend this year, and you can never go wrong with black! I styled this look with a fun olive green jeans skirt and my favorite flashy belt. This look can go out on the town or just a day that you are really feeling yourself. I felt very confident in this look and you'll likely see me wearing it again. The tank is once again from old navy and I found the skirt at American Eagle.

Look 17:

This look is a bit out of my comfort zone, but sometimes you have to reach. This look elaborates more on the metallic trend, I chose to style it by tying the shirt into a knot and wearing it with a comfortable black suede skirt and a long necklace. This is definitely a look you want to wear when you are feeling particularly bold. The top was found thrift shopping and the skirt was from a local Auburn boutique but can be found at many boutiques and even Target.

Look 18:

My final look is one of my favorites and no doubt one you'll see several times this fall. The two final trends in this look are leather and the color red. I styled the top with my FAVORITE boot cut jeans and some matching leather booties. I love boot cut jeans because they make me look taller! I got the top at Francesca's, and I've had the jacket since I was in the 8th grade but saw a super cute similar one at target recently!

That is all the style advice I have for you this week! I hope you enjoyed and please send me your favorite fall style look!! :)
