Traveling in Style
Let me start off by saying I'm not a light packer and I'm okay with that. I would love to be a light packer, but I travel with the thought in mind that I never know what will happen. I would always rather be more prepared and thus far this philosophy has never failed me. I would also like to point out I always dress up, heels included, when I go to the airport. I do so with the mentality that I never know who I might meet.
I love traveling more than anything else in the world and if all I could do was travel I would jump at the opportunity.
My outfit today is comfortable yet still looks stylish and classy. I am wearing an oversized jumpsuit from American Eagle, professional cardigan which by the way I found online for $12, and platform wedges. I always wear a cardigan or jacket because I get cold on planes and in airports. A jacket is an great way to always make sure you are comfortable when you're cold and easy to slip off and stick in a suitcase if you get too hot.
I always travel with a purse, carry on, and Winnie the Pooh. In my purse, I keep all my important documents and things that I need handy, but not too much so that it is clunky and heavy. I typically will carry my passport, wallet with my license, keys to unlock my suitcases, sunglasses, headphones and my planner. In my carry on I keep anything clunkier that I would not need handy or anything valuable that I want to make sure will not get lost. That would include electronics such as iPad, Laptop, and camera. I also make sure to put my makeup and hairbrush and straightener in my carry on, like I said you never know who you will meet and traveling can be hard so touch-ups are good. Lastly, I have specific "travel kits" that I always keep stocked and I honestly believe everyone should have them (it is the inner mom in me). I have a medical kit including things from band-aids for pesky travel blisters and spray Neosporin of course, Advil, allergy medicine, and a few other things. In my second travel kit, I keep things to freshen up such as travel a toothbrush, roller ball perfume, sewing kit, gum, an extra pair of headphones and plenty more. Now, pooh bear...yes I am 20 years old and carry a stuffed animal to the airport. First, people are 1000% nicer to me because they think I'm way younger and sweet. Second, BEST travel pillow. Trying to sleep while sitting is so uncomfortable and pooh bear just makes it so much easier if it sits on my lap I can just have something to support my head if I lean over and fall asleep it is also somehow more comfortable to hold onto something while you sleep sitting down.
So, yes seeing me travel with all my stuff you may think is silly, but you know you will be prepared and well taken care of! I hope you learned something you might use in your future travels and if I can give you one piece of advice: travel and explore to your heart's content because you will learn so much and meet so many incredible people!! Don't worry I'll keep you up to date on outfits and fun activities to do!
