The Real Resoltions

Updated: Mar 5, 2019

As January comes to a close we will start to see the glimmer of the new year fade and the resolutions start to fall short. The gym will begin to seem emptier, the bars might get more crowded, and people’s attitudes will shift.

Don‘t be that person, break the norm and stay with your New Years resolution or find one you are truly passionate about and stick to it.

One thing I have learned is to never call is a resultion, call it a goal. Resolutions are easily broken but a goal is a promise to yourself.

So, what is my goal?

While I tend to over commit myself on my desire to achieve goals I have one that is particularly important to me this year. I am going to start taking the work just out of any discriptors I use. Just is an unnecessary word that hinders whatever follows.

I am not “just Suzanna Pickering“; I am Suzanna Pickering a full time college student working three jobs, writing a blog, committing myself to the Coast Guard, and most importantly a force to be reckoned with.

We never give ourselves enough credit. (Well, we all know someone who takes too much credit). Imagine if we all treated who we are and what we do as more than a “just”.

This year I challenge you not only to keep your New Years GOALS, but also try taking out the "just". Even if you take out “just” for a week see the difference that it makes in your mindset.

I’d love to hear all your stories!!

Here is the big question I want you to ask yourself: how are you choosing to end January and begin February?

I am ending January in a great mood and everything is finally gong in the right direction! (It was a little touch and go there are the beginning of the year) I am starting February hitting the ground running with my brand new apparel design collection which I will be sharing with you all very soon! Stay tuned to the fashion show April 4th! I also get to go into February knowing I'll be reaching my goal of going to New York fashion week in a week andddd I'll be turning 21!!

So, here's to always remembering to keep one foot in front of the other, and your heels as high as your standards...xoxo Suzanna Rita
