Packing is inevitably the worst part of any trip, surpassed only by having to unpack. If you have ever been on a trip with me you know I'm a very serious over-packer. Here are a few of my favorite packing tips I live by.
If you have the opportunity and space to overpack do it. It is okay-I'd rather have more than enough than not enough.
Always keep all your toiletries packed, that way when you get home from a trip all you have to do is refill them if you know they are low.
Roll you clothes because it keeps them less wrinkled and goes you more space.
Take a mini travel steamer-if you can.
If you can't take a steamer you can always use a flat iron or blow dryer.
If you are flying wear your heavy shoes or pack them in your carry on.
Take travel or portable chargers I case you can't get to an outlet.
Pack as much as you can in shoes and purses.
Try to plan outfits around shoes and purses so your outfits can be versatile.
Always take a jean jacket-it is a comfortable staple.
ALWAYS make a packing list so you make sure to never forget something-even the most redundant things because you would be surprised what you can forget.
Make sure to take perfume or downy fresh spray so your clothes always smell fresh.
If you are flying make sure to have an extra set of clothes and personal items in your carry on just in case your luggage gets lost.
Make sure your suitcase is easily recognizable.
Bring a dirty laundry bag.
Try not to pack last minute because you end up over pacing useless things.
Leave space in your suitcase to bring back things from your travels.
Always pack a thread and needle.
Always have earplugs or ear phones.
Be sure to always pack thank you notes!!
Travel as often as you can, learn to love the world and all its beauty.
