Last First Day

Updated: Aug 31, 2019

Today is a little bitter sweet as it is my last first day of school ever. Freshman year I made it a goal to graduate early and thanks to lots of hard work I’ll be graduating a semester early.

That being I thought I should share 19 fun facts {graduating in December 2019} about the last sixteen years of school.

1. Freshman year I failed my math class and ever since my dad finds the class drop date and sends me a screenshot of it.

2. The very first day of freshman year I was looking for that very same math class and finally had to ask someone where the building was...I had been standing in front of it for about 15 minutes. Needless to say I always walk around campus and find my classes before school starts now.

3. I bit a boy because he wouldn’t let me go down the slide and was asked not to come back to pre-school.

4. My dad caried me in to school every day when I was little so on my last day of eighth grade he carried me in—poor man.

5. I tucked all the dolls in goodnight at school when the day was over.

6. My greatest accomplishment in elementary school was winning the dress up award—now I’m about to graduate in fashion design ... foreshadowing?

7. In my first day of high school pictures you can spot me wearing a different hand made bow every year — yes I still have them all.

8. The thing I was most excited for about college was not wearing a uniform — and yet I pick out my clothes and lat them out the night before just like I used to with my uniform.

9. Sophomore year of college I thought I was in the wrong major and almost switched.

10. I call my dad probably 3 times a day if not more when I’m in Auburn. Sorry not sorry.

11. First semester of freshman year I never dressed up for class, I wore Nike shorts and t-shirts to try to fit in. Ultimately I never felt like myself so I dress up every day now.

12. Sophomore year I wore (fake)glasses so often it took my little 4 months to find out I had 20/20 vision.

13. In four years if college I never lived in a dorm, I always lived in an apartment.

14. My junior year roommates first impression of me was that I was annoying because I introduce myself to every teacher on the first day and I dress up for class. — she’s one of my best friends now so it’s fine.

15. When I was in kindergarten I wasn’t supposed to take toys to school so I would sneak them in my lunchbox because no one ever checked in my lingo box.

16. Freshman year Walt called me all the time, not because he missed me, because he wanted me to ask my dad a question because I was better at it even from 5 hours away?

17. The only thing I remember about middle and elementary school is growing a potato in the fourth grade and being forced to pick up rocks as punishment in the eighth grade. {What can I say catholic school}

18. My favorite memory fro high school was walking out of November 1, 2017 to see my dad and Walt sitting in my truck.

19. On my last first day of college I decided to register for an 8 am...wish me luck.

I hope you enjoyed a few of my funny memories for school years past. I hope everyone has a fantastic school year!!

So, here's to always remembering to keep one foot in front of the other, and your heels as high as your standards...xoxo Suzanna Rita
