Happy Sunday to you all!
This week I'm going to broach the topic of "not feeling like you are enough". At some points in our lives, we all think we are not enough. Not skinny, smart, beautiful, funny, etc., enough. The things that make you "not enough" are indeed the things that make you exactly the person you were meant to be. I, for one, am not "tall enough". I can't reach the top shelf on the pantry; I can't see over most ledges and fences, and I can't sit straight I a chair without my legs dangling and my feet high above the floor. We need to realize that if we took ONE word out that sentence it sends a message completely the opposite and severely less negative. Why not say "I am tall enough, because that's how I was meant to be". Am I still frustrated that I will never reach the top shelf of the pantry? Yes, but that's why there are stools hidden all over my house. We constantly compare ourselves to others and think they are enough while we are not; they are enough but we fall short. Tall girls want to be short and short girls want to be tall, curly haired girls want straight hair and vice versa. For some reason we constantly seek to be what we are not.
Why do we continue to look in the mirror and think that the things that make us so uniquely us are the things that make us "not enough?" Each one of us is perfect and different in our own ways, and at some point we have to recognize adn accept that.
There are days when people will make us feel like we are not enough and on those days, say, "I make no apologies, this is me". Here is a video of me singing a snippet of "This is Me" from the movie The Greatest Showman, this song was a large inspiration for this post.
Do not apologize for who you are and remember that "He has made everything beautiful it its time." ~Ecclesiastes 3:11
Sending love and {Suzey} sunshine your way... until next time ...
